The Department of Interior (DOI) CHS III program will be leading the way for Cloud Hosting and Applications Modernization across DOI and its subordinate bureaus. CHS III will facilitate migration of legacy on-premises applications to a modern, secure and scalable multi-cloud platform. From sensors in active volcanic regions to earthquake detection data, CHS III will be DOI's central cloud processing and data solution.
The candidate will be expected to support various cloud-based workloads in AWS and facilitate work processes in an Agile manner for the Cloud DevOps team. Candidate would be responsible for:
- Lead Scrum, Lead Daily Stand Ups, Track blockers, Identify and communicate dependencies
- Utilize Jira for tracking task in a Kanban or Sprint cycle
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in minimal time to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Frequent collaboration and communication across various teams will be required.
- Successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and serve as a technical advisor to various USGS labs and science centers.
- Experience with migrating on-premise based workloads to the cloud is preferred, specifically with AWS.
- Additional experience with other Cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
Basic Qualifications
- 6 years experience
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have at least one of the following certifications or able to attain within 90 Days of Hire:
- CSM Scrum Master Certification
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/BA or higher
- Preferred experience with two or more of the following:
- Gitlab
- Project Management / SAFe Agile
- AWS CloudFormation
- Editing and deploying CloudFormation Templates in JSON and/or YAML
- AWS EC2
- Bash Scripting
- AWS Lambda Functions
- AWS EBS
- AWS EFS
- AWS S3
- Scrum Master experience
- Working in an Agile environment
