- High school diploma or equivalent with four years of related experience involving duties of increasing responsibility requiring discretion and independent judgment, or Associate’s Degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to four years.
- Proven ability to make independent decisions, determine appropriate next steps, and minimize risk
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task within a fast-paced office setting
- Comprehensive computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite, spreadsheet and database management, and various software applications
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to process financial transactions, maintain budget reports, and provide accurate recordkeeping
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize work
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters (both in office and externally) in a professional manner
- Ability to represent the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement and associated departments professionally to all constituents
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the general public

- Support the AVPSE with routine operational and administrative details by managing, organizing, prioritizing, completing, and/or delegating work and making decisions on behalf of AVPSE when appropriate and within established guidelines and policy.
- Maintain calendar, schedule meetings, prioritize key meetings and prepare meeting materials for AVPSE. Attend meetings and take notes as appropriate.
- Compose and prepare complex correspondence and other documents such as agendas, meeting minutes, materials for presentation, proposals, and reports for approval and/or distribution.
- Plan and facilitate Student Engagement events including retreats, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of data from all Student Engagement departments.
- Utilize computer applications and databases including the Microsoft Office Suite of products, Colleague Student Information System (SIS), Banner/Ushop procurement system, Kronos, Webi, other systems and software related to Student Engagement functions. Responsible for completeness, accuracy, and professional preparation of materials.
- Establish and manage complex electronic and hard copy filing systems by receiving, sorting, and distributing documents for office requirements, updating files and records, and retrieving and storing files as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality in communicating sensitive information and in handling confidential materials such as student records and departmental files.
- Interview, hire, train, and direct student employees and/or other staff, as assigned, including advising on new procedures, coordinating information, and shifting work to accommodate workload needs.
Duty/Responsibility
- Process all financial transactions for the AVPSE
- Serve as back-up financial processor for other administrative staff within Student Engagement departments
- Maintain budget records, monitor expenses of the Office and all Student Engagement departments and provide regular reporting to AVPSE, producing financial reports and summaries.
- Coordinate as needed with the KSC Finance team and USNH Procurement.
Duty/Responsibility
- Manage office flow including screening and referring callers, taking messages, handling concerns and complaints according to established procedures and with necessary discretion
- Summarize the content of incoming materials, specially gathered information or meeting results to assist AVPSE in identifying important issues. In AVPSE’s absence, ensure requests for action or information are relayed to the appropriate person(s).
- Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment for the office and in support of Student Engagement functions, and coordinate with Facilities Services as needed
