Essential Job Duties
Key responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
- Prepare and manage work orders and materials requests
- Review appropriated and receipts accounts in Wolf Reports, while providing recommendations for budget planning and expenditures
- Notify supervisors of new AiM Work Orders, monitor activity in AiM for time loading and status changes, and ensure accurate billing
- Create spreadsheets, documents, and reports using Word, Excel, and Access
- Monitor the work order management program and ensure its effectiveness
- Track and record equipment, material, and associated costs for projects, and close out work orders for billing through the AiM system
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Shop Supervisors regarding project requirements and timelines, and liaise with building liaisons and zone shops for system shutdowns
- Review and confirm the cost of labor and materials through AiM vendor contracts and University resources
- Procure equipment, tools, and supplies as requested by the Building Trades Manager
- Maintain the safety and health training schedules required for trade shop employees, adhering to Personal Protective Equipment standards and University safety protocols
Other Responsibilities
- Will assist other trades as required
- This position has been designated as essential personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule.
- This position may assist with snow and ice removal under the direction of a supervisor
Minimum Experience/Education
Other Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally with supervisors and the general public and understand verbal and written instructions and other communications regarding work assignments and other matters, also excellent organizational skills are needed
- Some project planning experience
- Experience using Word, Excel, Google Suites, experience with Adobe PDF Converter
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience in MS Projects and AiM Work Management System
Required License or Certification
- Valid driver’s license required
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license is required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
Valid NC Driver's License required
