Research Assistant

Job Description

The Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Assistant to assist with research studies in the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. The candidate will be part of a research team working on several ongoing projects including but not limited to biological therapies for cardiac arrhythmias.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain pluripotent stem cell culture and perform cardiac differentiation.
  • Perform immunostaining and cellular imaging of cardiac derivatives from stem cells.
  • Prepare histology sections for immunostaining.
  • Acquire cardiac cellular electrophysiology data from cultured cardiac cells and tissue constructs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD  
Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($45,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Full Time 
Schedule: M-F 
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
