How will you drive it? You’ll need to be an experienced executive leader with innovative ideas and thrive in a “Yes, and” environment. The Chief Programs Officer is a strategic leader who provides executive oversight for community services and programs. Services and programs include Culinary Programs, Community Kitchen, Nutrition Programs, Garden and Farmers Market programs, Healthcare Partnerships, and Community Resource (SNAP) programs.


Where YOU make the impact…

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic plan with quarterly accountabilities to support Tarrant Area Food Bank priorities and goals.

  • Create and manage annual operating budgets, which include restricted revenue and related grant funding.

  • As an executive leadership team member, define the organization’s long-term vision and goals; identify ways to drive the food bank’s mission through program management and ending hunger solutions.

  • Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s Ending Hunger solutions; assess success based on these metrics.

  • Lead and direct 3 departments which includes 30+ staff.

  • Model TAFB’s Core Values of Lead, Care, Innovate and Respect.

What you need to succeed!

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years serving in a leadership role; strong leadership presence with the ability to take charge, leverage data, and take risks.

  • You will drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop staff.

  • Establish staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.

  • Excellent communication skills. Responsible with building relationships with various leaders in the community. Experience with public speaking and presentations.

  • You need to be a risk taker, a visionary thinker, and adept at conflict resolution. You will motivate, initiate, and take appropriate risks.

 

A day in the life:

Works in an office environment, on occasion may work in warehouse or outdoors

This position requires frequent walking, standing, sitting and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds

Occasional travel in service areas and within state and nation

Requires work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability
