Job Function

As a successful Talent Acquisition Specialist this human resources position will actively work with the Talent team to assist the department in meeting hiring objectives. Sourcing and marketing to potential candidates and working with the college and community to acquire talent. The role will be responsible for working closely with HR and other college departments to implement the sourcing strategy across various roles and generate high caliber leads and applicants while ensuring a great candidate experience.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Design and implement recruiting initiatives and strategies in collaboration with other college stakeholders
  • Work to support the College Work Study program to grow the student participation and fill vacant work study positions.
  • Organizes, attends and participates in job fairs, community activities, and other public and departmental recruitment-related events
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc.
  • Represents and promotes organization to potential applicants by providing information, responding to questions, and collecting applicant data.
  • Participates in and provides support in design, development, and implementation of recruitment projects and initiatives
  • Provides support coordination of recruitment projects and related services to supervisors, hiring managers, recruitment team members, and others.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of recruitment, employment, compensation, benefits, pay administration, and other related organizational policies, practices, procedures, and/or regulations as it relates to recruitment.
  • Assists with identifying issues affecting recruitment and implementing recruitment activities to continuously improve process
  • Screen candidates resumes, job applications and credentials as assigned
  • Conduct applicant reference and background checks as required
  • Assist with the employee Onboarding process or employee orientation as assigned.
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team as needed
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices

 

Education

Associate Degree required; Bachelor degree preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable vehicle

Qualifications

1 year or more proven work experience in talent management, preferably recruiting. Previous experience in unionized, higher education or public-sector environment is preferred
