UC San Diego Health, a world class Academic Medical Center, is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, visionary leader to oversee our Radiology services throughout the UC San Diego Health organization. This person will have the opportunity to work with an outstanding Department of Radiology, School of Medicine faculty who are thought leaders in their fellowship trained areas of sub-specialties. At UC San Diego our Radiology services provide the most advanced Diagnostic image exams and quality utilizing state of the art technology/equipment. This includes but is not limited to Cardiology, Oncology, Neurosciences and MSK exams and intraoperative procedures.

The position will oversee the managerial and operational needs of Radiology service for all modalities including Diagnostic X-ray/Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine and Breast Imaging at the La Jolla campus, duties include: productivity standards, budget targets, schedule staff, assign staff to key workstations, ATS payroll entries, provides training for staff, update protocols and policies, recruit and interview new staff, provide new employee orientation, staff performance evaluations, order supplies, act as liaison across referring providers and stakeholders, effectively communicate to resolve problems, enforce policies and standards of practice, coach/team development and HR process. Partner with divisions and vendors for construction and upgrade projects. Working with the Bariatric Center of Excellence and Trauma accreditations. Must be able to demonstrate and apply a basic knowledge of the principles of Diagnostic radiology and follow state and federal regulations. This position will report directly to Director of Radiology for the La Jolla campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEleven (11) years of experience/education/training in at least one radiology modality; OR a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area plus seven(+7) or more years of experience to include 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Experience and proven clinical practice knowledge with applied background in a radiology modality.
Knowledge of terms, concepts, and protocols.
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care setting to improve operations.
- A Master's Degree.
- Licensed technologist in at least one radiology modality.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs at La Jolla Campus.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $112,100 - $216,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $53.69 - $103.69
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
