About the Role:

We are looking for a collaborative and highly motivated senior scientist to join our biotransformation and metabolism group. The primary role will be to support in vitro and in vivo metabolite identification for multiple discovery and development projects. The ideal candidate should provide subject matter expertise in enzymology and small molecule biotransformation/metabolite identification. The candidate will also have the opportunity to represent preclinical development on research and development teams and regularly interface with internal and external colleagues to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of ADME findings.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Independently conductin vitroandin vivometabolite identification studies including (but not limited to) preparing and analyzing samples for LC-MS/MS analysis, processing data and interpretation of data to understand metabolic pathways

  • Develop and implement suitable analytical LC separation methods and troubleshooting analytical issues with minimal supervision

  • Develop and optimize MS methods to obtain structural characterization of metabolites of interest

  • Radioanalysis (14C, 3H, etc.,) and radio-profiling of in vitro and in vivo biological samples for quantitation and identification of metabolites

  • Perform routine instrument maintenance, repair and may troubleshoot complex instrument issues

  • Writing protocols and reports, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data

  • Ensuring timely delivery of results in line with project schedules

  • Prepare data summaries and present results to peers, colleagues, project team and leadership teams

  • Possess excellent written and verbal technical communication skills and the demonstrated ability to lead, guide and influence teams in decision making

Requirements
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Drug Metabolism, or closely related discipline with 2+ years of experience in the industrial discovery and development of small and large molecular therapeutics; or MS with 5+ years of experience or BS with 10+ years of experience

  • Expertise and working knowledge of biotransformation of small molecules, enzymology and LC-MS/MS methodology

  • Experience with handling of biological samples containing radioactivity used in ADME studies

  • Experience with isolation of metabolite and NMR a plus

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and handle competing responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to integrate diverse perspectives, deliver critical messaging, and influence leaders/key partners

  • Collaborative team behaviors and aspiration to build and sustain relationships with R&D customers and the wider scientific community

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $106,400.00-$154,325.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
