The Director - Dual Enrollment and HS Programs provides tactical and operational leadership and complex administrative support for major district operations. Ensures delivery of dual enrollment services to college and high schools students, charter, private schools, and district campus communities. Directs operations of the area of dual enrollment including College grants and strategic initiatives. Performs the operational aspects of dual enrollment College Centers of Excellence and academic programs to all schools and districts.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers and implements the operational processes of dual enrollment programming for the College and all external partnerships of local high schools. Provides support to academic deans, instructional staff, faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff.
  • Initiates, communicates, and monitors qualifications of all Dual Enrollment High School Instructors. Develops and manages instructor costs, and makes billing recommendations for high schools pertaining to dual enrollment and early college.
  • Provides administrative direction and supervision to staff. Assigns projects and objectives; conducts performance evaluations; and develops, motivates, and trains staff. Manages hiring, termination, and disciplinary actions with subordinates.
  • Monitors Dual Enrollment high school course grades and Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) process to completion.
  • Creates and monitors plans for department scheduling and proctoring of all assessments of all dual enrollment students. Initiates and completes Master Schedule requests. Monitors Proof of Schedules for all sections of dual enrollment courses.
  • Creates, develops, and administers solutions, strategic activities, aligned objectives, and processes and procedures for dual enrollment. Conducts research, analysis and provides findings and recommendations. Develops solutions to processes pertaining to Dual Enrollment.
  • Serves as a member of multiple executive administrative teams. Represents the College at legislative government pertaining to K-12 law changes in credit alignment or dual enrollment changes.
  • Ensures the College complies with all state, federal, and higher learning commission policies and requirements pertaining to dual enrollment business operations. Collaborates with other state and national institutions to explore and become more aware of best practices for dual enrollment.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for any secondary schools
  • Work with Legal Departments to ensure compliance with all legal aspects of the programs
  • Ensure dual enrollment programs meet all state and federal laws and regulations, and that College accreditation requirements for dual enrollment programs are met
  • Develop, and maintain educational partnerships with public, charter, and private schools
  • Collaborate with academic affairs, student services, enrollment management/recruiting, and campus leadership to develop appropriate pathways and provide support for all high school students in the district
  • Support and work with appropriate Vice-Presidents, Deans and Assistant Vice-Chancellors in many regards including the oversight of the dual enrollment schedule to include joint approval, deletion, modification, and the addition of classes.
  • In collaboration with other areas of the College, develop, and maintain high school programs unit plan including goals, objectives, performance indicators, assessments, and resource needs to promote continuous improvement of this area
  • Collaborate with IT, enrollment management, student accounts, and the registrar to ensure accuracy of database elements for high school students and to develop/utilize appropriate business process reports
  • Consistently interact with high school partners, personally meeting with each at least once per academic year
  • Act as a visionary to advance the College and future of the students
  • Provide support for grant leadership working with high school students to ensure coordination across campuses
  • Collaborate with the business office to ensure the financial viability of program offerings, and develop appropriate budgets
  • Collaborate with public, charter, and private schools in the Pima Community College District to set the calendars for short-term and long-range planning purposes
  • Work with governmental relations to develop partnerships to adjust state statutes and regulations to provide maximum possible impact of programs for high school students in Arizona Participate in accreditation activities, reviews, reports, and special projects as needed
  • Chair the dual enrollment/high school programs standing committee
  • Serve as lead for dual enrollment liaisons
  • Represent Pima Community College as a member of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships
  • Actively serve on a variety of internal and external task forces, committees, and work groups
  • Provide Dean support and collaboration to ensure, database of all materials, processes, files and assessments are collected and stored in dual enrollment electronic files
  • Create a new Dual Enrollment Handbook for internal and external purposes with new functions of the department
  • Create and maintain internal processes related to dual enrollment
  • Provided operational support of daily operations to all campuses in relation to dual enrollment in the areas of Student Affairs, instructional support of dual enrollment instructions, grants, academic divisions, and additional units of the college,
  • Collaborate with marketing to design and maintain a dual enrollment website and other printed dual enrollment marketing pieces
  • Advocate both internally and externally for the needs of the dual enrollment program

 


Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Administration, Leadership K-12, Higher Education, or a closely related field of study and
  • Five to eight years of related experience and
  • Three plus years of supervisory experience

or

  • An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Leadership, or a closely related field of study
  • Eight plus years of related experience

  • Knowledge and application of interviewing and investigative methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of advising and counseling practices
  • Knowledge of internal and external customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting programs and services
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Skill in people leadership and supervision
  • Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills as well as draw conclusions and prepare accurate reports of results
  • Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with dual enrollment students
  • Knowledge of High School processes and policies
  • Knowledge of CTE and JTED programs in the state of Arizona
