In the role of Prevailing Wage Specialist, we'll count on you to:

First priority: Understand Prevailing Wage Process and Labor Compliance Reporting including responsiveness to client audits on these topics.

Autonomously provide overall support to ensure labor compliance is meeting all contract and statutory requirements. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and Maintain Certified Payroll Reporting for public works projects.
  • Review and verify payroll records, benefit statements, employer training contributions, and apprenticeship paperwork to determine compliance with applicable rules and regulations utilizing LCP Tracker
  • Issue requests for missing and revised documentation. Correspond with the subcontractor's staff to ensure compliance.
  • Complete audits, and calculate underpayments, fines, and penalties if applicable. Audits are then forwarded to the Department Manager for review.
  • Work with LCP Tracker software to review and approve certified payroll and payroll documents.
  • Composes letters requesting payments and follow up with non-compliant subcontractors.
  • Establish files reflecting all appropriate documentation.
  • Ensures subcontractors are appropriately registered with the DIR.
  • Ensures sub-consultant payments are applied toward DBE contractual goals.
  • Ensures all files are stored in appropriate project file.
  • Have proficient knowledge of project accounting and project invoicing - must be able to perform these duties autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience supervising other financial professionals beneficial
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
