Job Summary
The Research Assistant will be involved in new cell culture reagent product development and supporting existing products In particular, he/she will be involved in determining the feasibility and launch of new products through establishing/executing optimized cell culture models and collaborating with MFG/QC teams for tech. transfer. This role will also be involved in troubleshooting issues associated with existing products. This role requires mammalian cell culture experience. Knowledge of process development for reagents such as antibody production on a small and large scale is a plus.
He/she must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Be able to maintain good documentation practices and generate reports. Must be proficient in computer software use (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Must be collaborative and have good communication skills.
Essential Functions

- Design the experiment together with the supervisor scientists.
- Conduct experiments independently.
- Lead assigned laboratory activities such as trainings, ordering supplies, keeping inventories updated.
- Create SOPs and other documentation relevant to the product development
- Troubleshoot cell based-assays
- Perform relevant primary and cell lines culture.
- Quantify and characterize antibodies by multiple techniques (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and others)
- Troubleshooting and conducting process improvements on cell culture
- Perform good ISO-compliant documentation
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced goal-driven environment
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams including R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
- Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
- B. S. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Immunology or other related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working in an academic or industry laboratory
- 2+ years of cell culturing experience
- 1+ years of experience with SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and flow cytometry
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
- Experience culturing and handling primary cells such as PBMCs and adult stem/progenitor cells.
- Experience in cell-based assays
- Experience in development or characterization of antibodies (Ig Quantification, Flow cytometry, etc.)
The base salary range for this full-time position is$65,000 - 67,000.This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
