Biostatistician

Job Description

This position is to a hire a Biostatistician researcher who can develop statistical tools to analyze infectious disease dynamics. This project will focus on the use of various data

sets (human behavior, genomics, serological status, and epidemiological information) to predict the spatial and temporal dynamics of vector-borne (malaria, dengue) and vaccine preventable (SARS-CoV-2, measles, rubella) diseases. The position will require the development, evaluation, and investigation of statistical frameworks to understand disease

transmission and ultimately inform public health policy.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • The specific duties will require developing infectious disease transmission models in R, ‘big data’ management, and model fitting.
  • The position will require writing scientific manuscripts, public health reports, and scientific presentations.



Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related quantitative field.
  • One-year related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on spatial transmission models, experience working on the epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases.

Starting Salary Range: $55,200 - $96,600 Annually (Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Full Time 
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5 pm
