Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Lead Drainage Engineer and/or Lead Stormwater Engineer to join our SoCal Design Team! The successful candidate will provide coordination of project execution and control on civil transportation projects to achieve project continuity within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through final design. In addition to championing technical excellence on projects, you'll be a driving force behind cultivating relationships with key stakeholders internally, clients, and industry teaming partners.

Responsibilities:

    Serve as lead drainage and/or lead stormwater technical liaison with client on project efforts.
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation facilities, public and private site development, solar facilities, and a wide variety of flood control projects.
  • Drainage design, including, but not limited to the design of storm drains, pipe networks, storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics and roadside ditches. Caltrans/highway experience a plus.
  • Stormwater design includes preparing agency-required documentation such as SWQMPs, Water Quality Technical Reports, SWPPPs, and other documents describing permanent and temporary erosion control measures such as ditches, channels, basins, silt fences, fiber rolls, and other CASQA-required devices. Caltrans/highway experience a plus.
  • Coordinate efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort.
  • Perform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using AutoCAD/Microstation and/or Civil-3D/InRoads/Openroads.
  • Prepare erosion control and/or stormwater management plans.
  • Development of specifications, technical report writing, quantities, cost estimating, and engineering support of construction.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and project interviews.
  • Mentoring of junior staff.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required. Master's degree is a plus.

Professional Engineering registration in California is required. QSD and/or QISP a plus.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience with an emphasis in drainage and/or stormwater design
  • Production experience in AutoCAD / Civil 3D /InRoads and(or) AutoCAD/Microstation.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $98,000 - $143,000
