We're looking for an inventive Autonomous Systems Engineer to join our Imaging Systems Group, where your creativity becomes the backbone of projects that enhance future operational capabilities, safeguard our Nation's security, and pioneer the next wave of technological evolution.
As a member of our team, you will:
- Research, evaluate, and integrate innovative algorithms and technologies for perception, planning, and control.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of autonomous systems solutions from concept to deployment.
- Engage in the fabrication, assembly, and integration of subsystems, ensuring robust autonomous functionalities.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, encouraging a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields and
- At least 3 years relevant experience in autonomy and embedded system development.
- Have experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded systems development, and hardware/software co-design for resource-constrained platforms.
- Are proficient in programming languages such as but not limited to Python, C++, Java, and experience with the ROS, as well as experience with software development tools and libraries.
- Demonstrate excellence in written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to contributing to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
- Have familiarity with common sensor technologies and data processing techniques used in autonomous systems, such as point cloud processing, SLAM, and object detection/tracking.
- Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

- Possess a Master's degree in artificial intelligence and/or at least 8 years relevant experience in autonomy and embedded system development.
- Have experience with UxS control systems (e.g., ArduPilot, Betaflight, PX4) and working knowledge of UxS architectures, flight-critical software, and aircraft performance.
- Are proficient in languages for System-on-Module (SoM) platforms (e.g., C++ and Python), with a strong grasp of algorithms and data structures.
- Have experience with sensor technologies commonly used in autonomous systems, such as LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, GPS, and RADAR, including sensor calibration, data fusion, and sensor fusion algorithms.
- Are familiar with path planning algorithms (e.g., Dijkstra, A) and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Currently possess an Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
