SUMMARY
The Coordinator for Facility and Event Operations oversees the morning and afternoon operations of the Ford Fieldhouse. This position is responsible for the oversight of all fitness and gym equipment. This includes the purchasing, maintenance, cleanliness, and acting as the liaison between the department and equipment companies. This position shares responsibility for event management in the Fieldhouse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in creating a safe, secure, functional, and inclusive environment within the Ford Fieldhouse for students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
- Responsible for opening the facility each day.
- Create building activity schedules using 25Live, the scheduling software the department uses.
- Complete HVAC reports to assist the Facilities Department.
- Serve as a back-up to the closing supervisor in the Fieldhouse or the Coordinator in the Applied Technology Center.
- Understand the concession stand operations and be able to operate this area for certain events.
- Prepare the various areas of the Ford Fieldhouse for the scheduled use based on the daily schedule.
- Monitor and control the activity where the equipment issue area is ensuring equipment is available, in working condition, and returned upon each use.
- Responsible for purchasing new fitness equipment or replacement of fitness equipment.
- Oversight of all maintenance and the cleaning schedule for all fitness equipment.
- Serve as the liaison between the department and fitness equipment service technicians.
- Assist with the enforcement of all Ford Fieldhouse policies and procedures.
- Assist with laundry services for the athletic department and for the facility.
- Provide support to all members of the facility to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Assist in planning and oversight of all events in the facility.
- Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, of the Ford Fieldhouse student staff members.
- Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, of the Ford Fieldhouse contingency staff members.
- Work collaboratively with other college departments to ensure effective facility management.
- Persons in this role are identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSA¿s will be trained and responsible for reporting Clery Reportable Crimes to Campus Police as required by the Clery Act.
- Act as a supporting member of the Crisis Management Team in the event of an emergency.
- Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- Bachelor's degree required, with an emphasis in facility management, event management, athletic administration or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Must have or be willing to earn an American Red Cross CPR & AED certification
- Must have or be willing to earn the Serv-Safe certification
- Must have or be willing to earn an American Red Cross Instructor Certification
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of facility or event operations experience in a multi use facility environment required
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- Understanding of student development theory is preferred

Working Conditions

- Must be able to work long hours including alternate shifts and/or weekends to cover facility events or facility open hours
