Job Description

The applicant will be part of the Greer lab in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology & Neuroscience at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. The appointed individual will be a key contributor within a research team. They will conduct original research in memory formation and transcriptional regulation. The lab implements a variety of techniques including functional genomic analysis by next-generation sequencing, behavioral analysis, fluorescent microscopy, and genetic/mRNA manipulations. Develop productive working relationships with Principal Investigator and other lab members.

Other duties include:
  • Promote a welcoming lab environment
  • Experimental design, procedure optimization, and data analysis
  • Develop understanding of relevant literature
  • Writing: manuscript preparation and grant writing
  • Oral: present data at internal and national meetings
  • Participate in training and mentorship of junior lab members
  • Participate in collaborative work

 

 

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
M.D. or PhD Required

 

Qualifications
PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Biology, or related field.

 

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Biology, or related field.

 

Computer Skills
Basic Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook, Internet
