Job Description

Description of Duties: The Custodian is responsible to the Custodial Supervisor and Director of Facilities.

Specific duties include:

1. To perform activities as necessary to maintain buildings in a clean, orderly, and comfortable condition.

2. To assume primary responsibility for maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas.

3. To maintain and utilize all conventional custodial equipment and tools necessary to performing custodial tasks.

4. To be responsible for informing the supervisor of any supplies or equipment needs necessary to perform the assigned duties.

5. To inform the supervisor of any special physical needs of the areas assigned.

6. To notify the proper authorities of security violations.

7. To maintain the cleanliness of all entrance and exits to buildings and to water grounds as necessary.

8. To assist in removing snow from walkways, entrances, and exits during winter months.

9. To assist in the general maintenance and operation of all areas of the physical plant.

10. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

11. To assume special responsibilities on assignment by the Custodial Supervisor and the Director of Facilities.

Travel Required: None

Experience and Training: Two years of experience in custodial services.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment, ability to operated electric buffers, strippers and vacuum cleaners.

Preferred Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and two years experience in custodial services.

Salary or Salary Range: This is a full time 12 month NIGHT TIME position with full time benefits. The hours are 10pm to 2am on Sunday and 10pm to 6am Monday through Thursday. The salary is $26,298. This position is open immediately and applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is secured.
