As a HR Administrative Assistant you will...
- Support and drive key operations of the Strategic Partners Group, ensuring consistent, efficient, and effective operational processes and products.
- Provide direct support on projects and initiatives; serve as a valued “go-to” person and key resource to explain policies, practices and procedures; research and gather information; conduct analyses to identify and report activities and trends, and work independently to address and solve problems.
- Become a process and knowledge expert, and be responsible for support, administration and execution of several key HR processes and activities, including salary administration, conducting exit and stay interviews, processing status changes, and working with colleagues to recommend sand implement streamlining and efficiency into processes within the group.
- Provide direct support to Strategic HR Partners with a variety of projects, initiatives and teams. This could include conducting research; compiling and analyzing Data; preparing; and supporting training, preparing materials for off sites or other major events; and at times leading your own projects.
- Regularly utilize key software and applications to track activities and create reports, dashboards and presentations to use in providing information, reporting trends, and assisting in management decision-making.
- Become a key knowledge expert, regularly answering questions, providing responses to ad hoc data requests, and independently researching and providing solutions to problems or concerns that customers may bring to you.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
Have 4 or more years administrative experience in a fast paced and multi-faceted work environment, with demonstration of supporting a team and successfully partnering and collaborating to accomplish team objectives; (years of full-time college level coursework will be considered equivalent to work experience);
Demonstrate keen attention to detail
Are a highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated track record of taking initiative;
Are proficient with software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends;
Can demonstrate the ability to creatively and efficiently solve problems; develop and assess alternative approaches; and drive innovative solutions to proactively address problems and improve processes;
Are organized and efficient, and able to both multi-task and continually reprioritize work to meet evolving needs;
and have demonstrated professional experience in managing multiple projects with proven success in communicating progress, providing timely deliverables and demonstrating responsiveness to customer requests;
Have strong communications skills, both written and interpersonal, to include demonstrated ability to build networks and work well on teams

Possess a Bachelor's degree
Have supported teams in an HR environment;
Have advanced Excel skills to include abilities like the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, complex calculations etc.
Are skilled in compiling, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data
Are familiar with PeopleSoft, Visier, Workday, and other HR systems

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
