We are seeking a project and technical leader to guide teams of engineers and software developers prototyping and operationalizing state of the art AI solutions for a variety of domains including, but not limited to, cyber operations and information operations.
The candidate should have in-depth experience with cyber AI integration, rapid and deliberate planning, historical analysis, and problem framing. Candidate will develop strategy for the integration and testing of network security and situational awareness programs/tools.
As a Sr. Cyber AI Operations Researcher you will:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of Cyber AI Operations and Mission Assurance Develop innovative, cutting-edge prototype solutions to tradecraft-driven problems for DoD and IC customers by blending latest research and industry best practices.
- Evaluate and develop requirements to support current and planned deployment of cyber AI programs and tools
- Explore promising new AI/ML research and maintain/gain technical edge required for projects.
- Build partnerships with scientists and engineers across APL, the other divisions of JHU, and the wider research community
Qualifications
You will meet our minimum qualifications if you...
- Hold a Bachelors degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, AI/Machine Learning, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have at least 6 years of experience guiding and/or leading cyber AI defense and network operation strategy and policy.
- Possess demonstrated leadership of teams in cyber operations.
- Hold an Active Secret clearance and are able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You will go above and beyond out minimum qualifications if you...
- Have 10 or more years experience with integrating full spectrum cyber AI operations (network operations, defensive cyberspace operations, and offensive cyberspace operations) and conventional military operations (kinetic, information, and electronic warfare).
- Have experience working with DoD and/or IC customers
- Hold an Active Top Secret clearance.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. $90,000 Annually
Maximum Rate
$330,000 Annually
