The Oncology Nursing Float Pool Clinic RNs will work within all domains of outpatient cancer services (clinics, BMT, Radiation Oncology) to provide competent, confident patient care excellence in coverage of FMLAs or leaves greater than 2 weeks. These positions require dynamic, experienced oncology RNs with previous oncology and/or infusion experience, exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, and families in the application of top of license care, including but not limited to: assessment, care coordination planning, intervention, evaluation and patient/family education.
Expected locations: Encinitas, Vista, La Jolla Moores Cancer Center & KOP, Hillcrest, and Rancho Bernardo.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum two (2) years of Hematology, Oncology, and/or BMT experience required.
Care Coordination experience.
Must have strong knowledge of cancer care, diagnosis, and treatment.
Must have the ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies.
Must have positive communication and telephone skills and positive stress management and coping skills.
BSN
ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with current knowledge of chemotherapy protocols.
Outpatient experience.
OCN/BMTCN certification.
- Must be able to work with vulnerable patients throughout their cancer journey.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on business needs.
- Float locations include: Encinitas, Vista, La Jolla Moores Cancer Center & KOP, Hillcrest, and Rancho Bernardo.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
