Job Summary: Assists the Head Athletic Trainer in the scheduling, maintenance and organization of the training room, as well as with team practices, and game coverage.
Essential Job Functions:
• Maintains athletic facilities as assigned by the Athletic Trainer.
• Assists with the athletic training room, practice, and game coverage.
• Assists in the recruitment and scouting of potential student trainers.
• Teaches physical education courses as needed.
• Maintains work area, shops, labs, and/or equipment in safe and sound condition. Manages and cares for
athletic training equipment.
• Supervises athletic training students during team practices, competition activities, and student athletes.
• Schedules athletic training students to assist teams during practice and competition.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Weekend and evening work required during athletic seasons.
Required Abilities:
• Ability to be detail-oriented, time management appropriate, engage in learning new skills and concepts.
• Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to operate a personal compatible computer and other standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Ability to articulate and support the values of Cisco College. Ability to interpret and abide by the policies and procedures of Cisco College
Required Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of all regulations in adherence to required licenses and certifications in the field of Athletic Training.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training; or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• State licensure of athletic training (LAT)
• Preferred: National certification of athletic training (ATC)
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
Preferred Required Experience:
• Experience in athletic training in Higher Education environment
• Master’s Degree
