Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven individual to provide advanced administrative and HR generalist support by exercising independent judgment and discretion in assisting on matters related to employee compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting and retention, talent management, training and development, compensation & benefits, and compliance. In addition, the successful applicant will convey information to employees on workplace policies, procedures, and benefits daily.

The successful applicant will be based at AAA Headquarters in New York, NY, on a hybrid basis (2 days a week on-site). This position's starting annual salary range is $69,000 - $72,100, with a yearly incentive opportunity.

Responsibilities
- Works closely with HR team members to improve overall work relationships at the AAA, build morale, and increase employee commitment, engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Coordinates a wide range of benefit programs and serves as one of two primary contacts for educating and advising employees on HR personnel policies/procedures and company-sponsored benefit programs; serves as the liaison between employees/insurance carriers/healthcare providers on HIPPA related matters, serving as an advocate of the employee and AAA.
- Shares primary responsibility for maintaining up-to-date HRIS records, which typically contain complex and/or confidential information about the organization and its employees; generates and analyzes ad hoc, custom, and template system reports as requested; keeps accurate records, files, and archives records in a well-organized and secure fashion; performs paper and system audits as necessary; maintains confidentiality.
- Processes and administers leave of absence request disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, FMLA; effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications relating to leaves of absence/disabilities.
- Coordinates, assigns, and tracks staff training and professional development opportunities through TalentPoint (CSoD); assists in developing and delivering presentations and materials to employees (orientation, onboarding, benefits, etc.).
- Assists and supports with recruiting and retention initiatives, including job posting, recruiting, candidate screening, interviewing, and scheduling.
- Ensures confidentiality; adheres to the AAA's information security and data privacy policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assisted in coordinating and facilitating new employee onboarding; processed new hire, status change, and termination changes; worked closely with payroll and finance teams to ensure that all compensation, employee records, and benefit programs/systems were accurately maintained.
- Shares responsibility for conducting I-9 e-verifications, pre-employment background screening, and other investigative or consumer reports.
- Prepares vendor/carrier invoices for payment; tracks, maintains and records information on large financial transactions; monitors and generates financial reports as requested; shares responsibility for coordinating retiree and COBRA insurance benefits and billings.
- Assists the HR team in coordinating, preparing, and scheduling special projects or events.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable job attendance.
- Attends on-site and in-person meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational behavior, psychology, or related discipline; 1 - 3 years of relevant HR work experience (e.g., proving support in various HR operations) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of legal compliance (labor laws and employment regulations).

- Flexibility in adapting to and managing business change.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of employee concerns.

Technology Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal files, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers, arbitrators, mediators, or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts, and graphs.
